As a leading children’s hospital, our cystic fibrosis (CF) researchers participate in the , which is dedicated to finding a cure for the disease. Funding more CF research than any other organization, TDN has made nearly every CF drug available today possible.

Clinical trails

In addition to our work with the CF Foundation, our researchers also conduct various clinical trials and research. Clinical has focused on areas such as the use of gene therapy to replace defective genes, safety testing of newly developed medications, the lung function of infants and effective treatment methods for certain complications.

Interventional Pulmonology Program

We are proud to be the only children’s hospital on the West Coast to offer interventional pulmonology services to diagnose and treat conditions like airway obstruction, persistent air leak, persistent pneumothorax (collapsed lung), and lung infections. These techniques are newly available to pediatric patients and are already making a big difference, helping to avoid unnecessary surgical procedures and more.
