Important news regarding our practice closure on January 1, 2026
On January 1, 2026, the Women’s Health Palo Alto OB/GYN practice will be closing due to the retirement of the practice’s lead provider, Dr. Jags Powar. As our practice closes, our goal is always to make sure all our patients continue to get the best care possible. The following information will tell you more about what you need to do before the practice closes on January 1, 2026.
Before the practice closure, all patients will need to transition their care and pay any balances. We understand that this may be difficult or inconvenient, and we want to do everything we can to make this transition as easy as possible for you.
Transition your care
We want to make sure you get any appointments or tests you need to continue your care as easily as possible. If you are currently a patient of the Women’s Health Palo Alto practice, we will help you transition your care to one of the following Stanford clinics:
You can also choose to transition your care to another provider outside of Stanford Health. We encourage you to choose a provider that you think can best meet your needs. You can ask your health care insurance provider what physicians are within your network. We recommend considering the following local practices:

Pay your balance
If you have any bills, you have not yet paid to Women’s Health Palo Alto practice, we ask you to pay them by December 31, 2025. To talk with someone about your bill balance or to pay over the phone, call (800) 308-3285.
If you have any other questions about paying or what your insurance covers or if you are concerned you will not be able to pay your balance, call our administrative office at (650) 988-7476. They are available to discuss your questions and concerns without judgment.

If you have any questions or need help, please call the Women’s Health Palo Alto practice at (650) 721-6060. If you call Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. before December 31, 2025, a live representative will be available to answer your call. AfterÌýJanuary 1, 2026, there will be a recorded phone message that will tell you the most updated practice information.
Starting on January 1, 2026, you will no longer be able to send messages to your provider via MyChart. Your MyChart account will still be active, and you can access your information from past visits.
