Clinical Assistant Professor
Pediatric Pulmonology
I was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey, in a very medical household. My dad is a pulmonologist and my mom was a dentist. So, I knew very early on that I wanted to be a physician. My dad, interestingly, is an adult pulmonologist, but I chose pediatrics. I’ve been very passionate about bronchoscopy, and especially interventional pulmonology in pediatrics, because I’ve seen the effects of minimally invasive techniques and how they can prevent unnecessary surgeries in children, and I wanted to bring that to the West Coast.
