Pediatrics
鈥淚 see patient care as a two-way street鈥擨 do my part by really paying attention.鈥
Being a doctor is such a great opportunity to do so many different things. You get to wear a lot of different hats鈥攃linician, teacher, advocate鈥攁nd invest in people鈥檚 lives in a truly meaningful way. I鈥檝e always been drawn to that versatility and the chance to grow alongside the people I care for.
With pediatrics specifically, you get to do all of that while also hanging out with kids鈥攁nd who can say no to that? Even in the most serious moments, there鈥檚 often a sense of levity that follows. Kids have a way of bringing humor, honesty, and joy into the room. It keeps things light and reminds me every day why I chose this path. My personal interest is in community health and advocacy, which naturally complements working with children and their families.
I enjoy building strong, lasting relationships with families and getting to know kids over time. I see patient care as a two-way street鈥擨 do my part by really paying attention. Often, what a child is experiencing reflects the broader circumstances of their family and community, and I aim to honor that in every visit.
